Malaysiakini - RPK Video Clips Evening News

Actually I'm very happy when things looks alright this morning and when I read the newspaper and even check in the internet, there is nothing to worry. Overnight US market close high and I expect the only thing to look forward is whether Sept 16 can really happen.......

........ but all the sudden in the afternoon, RPK was detained by the police..........and the worst was, he was under ISA.

I told myself, not even 48 hours after our Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi announced the suspensions of Datuk Ahmad Ismail ( Malaysiakini : Ahmad Ismail Consultancy and Motivation Sdn Bhd ), now the political in our country has turn to another higher level.

This is bad, really really bad for our country. If the political news still keep on continue to be like that, don't even think about investing some of your savings in the Bursa Malaysia.

If I'm an investor, I will sure think it for more than 10 times before putting any investment in Malaysia. This was his second time detention. Let us recall back a little bit about his ISA detentions.

First time ISA detention 2001

Raja Petra was a leading member of Parti Keadilan Nasional (now Parti Keadilan Rakyat)—the party set up in response to the arrest of former Malaysian deputy prime minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in 1998.

On April 11, 2001, Raja Petra and 10 other opposition activists were detained under the Internal Security Act (ISA) for allegedly plotting to overthrow then prime minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad. He was released from the detention center 52 days later.

(Sorry this video clip is in Malay languages)

Second time ISA detention 2008

Raja Petra was charged under the ISA for comments allegedly insulting Islam and Prophet Muhammad. Several religious groups - Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim), Yayasan Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia (Yadim), Federal Territory Islamic Religious Council (Maiwp) and Federal Territory Religious Department (Jawi) - had lodged police reports against him.

The groups complained his comment in an article entitled "I Promise to be a good, non-hypocritical Muslim" allegedly used sentences that insulted Muslims.

To my surprised again, his detention this time is not about politic but more to the Islamic matters. Some of us might argue that this is the governments plays but to be honest the government of Malaysia has issue a lot of warning and even told him to be sensitive in writing any article. But what to do ? PRK never bother the call and the warning.
