Selangor state exco Ronnie Liu filed a defamation suit against former Selangor MB Datuk Seri Dr Khir Toyo on Monday for allegedly defaming his character, including allegedly describing Liu as immoral and being involved in vice activities.
Dr Khir had allegedly accused Liu in May of obstructing a prostitution raid at a hotel in Puchong and claimed he was therefore not fit to be in charge of the state’s local government.
Liu said the accusations were baseless and was aimed at attacking his political reputation and tarnishing his name.
He is seeking an unspecified amount of general, aggravated and exemplary damages. The suit was filed at 11.30am at the KL High Court.
It happen last year in Nov 2007. A three star hotel located in Puchong Jaya. It was raided by the enforcement officer from Subang Jaya Municipal Council and the police. Ronnie Liu was detained by the police in Nov 2007 for obstructing a prostitution raid at a hotel in Puchong Jaya.
During that time (2007) Y.B Ronnie Liu was just a DAP central commitee member only.

Sometimes when you really look at our current share market performance with current world market conditions..... it is better to leave it at a side.
I'm not condemning our market...it just that it is not wise to talk about share market....... I can't find the bottom and also I can't find when is the right time...
It is too dangerous out there.... it is a global market explosion..
You will get hurt easily... lately eventhough I made some profit but now I'm holding some shares at losses. Not much but still can recover.
Now the market is just like the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis.

"I want to emphasise again that I did not obstruct MPSJ or the police's duty, I was only there to help a few people who were asked to leave the hotel," he told a press conference after state executive meeting on Wednesday.
Liu said he was at the hotel, which was in the process of being sealed, to help the hotel's guests to claim back their personal belongings.
He said there was some argument during the process and he was arrested then.
Now you know why Ronnie Liu sue Toyo for Defamation?
